PURPOSE:To simplify obtain a thin film magnetic head with good accuracy, by forming a head train at the inside of a metallic recessed base, symmetrically bonding a pair of molded planes of the head train to both sides of a shielding plate and processing planes opposing to a magnetic medium of the bonded assembly into one body. CONSTITUTION:The member arranging a plurality of heads formed with the thin film processing method is bonded on a base 11 such as an alumina porcelain plate at the inside of a metallic base 21 having a recessed groove. Next, a space other than the groove is vapor-deposited with SiO2 22 or filled in with a synthetic resin. A pair 21, 21a of the bases 21 are unified symmetrically to both sides of a shielding plate 23 into one body through tightening screws 24 and 24a. Only the opposing plane to a magnetic medium is shaped by using the back side of the bases 21 and 21a as a reference. The opposing plane (sliding plane) to the magnetic medium of each magnetic head surrounded by the metallic base 21 can uniformly processed without causing any tilted plane or recessed part. Thus, thin film magnetic heads with high accuracy can be obtained with good yield. |
