A thermal transfer dye image-receiving sheet capable of receiving clear, uniform colored images without a formation of curls and wrinkles therein, comprising (A) a substrate sheet composed of (a) core sheet having a thermal shrinkage Y3 , (b) a front coated thermoplastic film layer having a thickness T1 and a thermal shrinkage Y1 , and (c) a back coated thermoplastic film layer having a thickness T2 and a thermal shrinkage Y2 , the T1 , T2 , Y1 , Y2 and Y3 satisfying the following relationships (1) and (2): Y2 >/= Y1 >/= 2Y3 (1) and T2 >/= T1 (2) wherein Y1 , Y2 and Y3 are determined in accordance with JIS K 6734 (1975) at 100 +/-2 DEG C for 10 minutes.
