The sensor transmits the data corresponding to the number of passing vehicles vehicle speed and occupancy ratio of the road to the traffic controller. The sensor uses an analog phase synchronising circuit (3) receiving the resonating frequency of the oscill ator (8) when turning on the power. A loop oscillator (2) is connected to a switch (12) selecting the resonant frequency from high, normal, low modes to improve the separation of the loop coil frequencies. The sensitivity of an amplifier (5) is adjustable to three steps with a sensitivity selector (13). The data of the occupancy ratio, speed or number of the vehicles running on the road surface is provided through an output driver (11) to the traffic controller by selecting a mode selection switch (9).
