PURPOSE:To generate an alarm from a computer body if a paper near end of a printer is detected by sending a logic sum output of a paper near end signal and a paper end signal to the body as a paper end signal of the printer, and combining a busy signal indicating that a printing is impossible and the paper end signal. CONSTITUTION:When a rolled sheet of a rolled sheet holder 1 is entirely wasted, a paper end detector 4 sends a paper end signal 5 to a printer controller 6, a sheet lack LED 7 is lit by the controller 6, and a paper end signal 11 is sent from a printer 8 to a computer body 10. Simultaneously, a busy signal 9 indicating that the printer 8 is impossible to print is also sent to the body 10, and the printer 8 becomes impossible to print. Thus, the body 10 indicates the fact that the printer 8 becomes paper end on a display unit 12 and generates an alarm to an operator. |
