PURPOSE:To specify pitch according to the operation of a single performance operation element and to enable various performance representations through easy operation with simple constitution by providing a means which selects or sets optional position-pitch conversion characteristics. CONSTITUTION:When a performance mode is specified with a write mode switch WS OFF, a selecting device 18 can selects an optional characteristic among conversion characteristics stored in conversion characteristic storage parts 0 - n of a memory 14. For example, when the device 18 turns on a switch 0, a touch bar 10 is used to specify pitch according to the conversion characteristic stored in the 0-th conversion characteristic storage part of the memory 14. A musical sound signal generating circuit 24 generates a musical sound signal of pitch specified with pitch data MPD from the memory 14 in synchronism with an ON signal from a touch detecting circuit 12 and the generated musical sound signal is converted into a sound by a sound system 26. Therefore, various performances such as a music performance, a portamento performance, and a glissando performance are performed through the easy operation with the simple constitution. |
