PURPOSE: To eliminate a reading error by using a light transmitting part, a light source, and a photoelectric receiving part, and detecting the change of a refraction characteristic to the surface of the light transmitting part with the light transmitting being immersed part into liquid to be measured. CONSTITUTION: A printed circuit board 138 is fitted to an automobile appropriately so that a conical recession 118 may face in the vertical upward direction, when the automobile is approximately in a horizontal state. A spherical substance 128 occupies the center of the conical recession 118 by the function of gravity. When the spherical substance 128 is at this center, it interrupts rays from a light emitting element 124, and prevents most of the rays from reaching a photo detector 126. If the automobile is inclined at 5 deg. or 10 deg., the spherical substance 128 swerves from an optical path like positions shown by broken lines, and moves toward the outside in the radial directions. In this way, the photo detector 126 provides information on the inclination of the automobile. Consequently, it becomes possible to eliminate a read error when the automobile is inclined. |
