Method of smoothing patterned transparent electrode stripes in thin film electroluminescent display panel manufacture

In the manufacture of a thin film electroluminescent display panel, patterned transparent electrode stripes on a glass substrate are smoothed by: (A) depositing a uniform layer of dielectric material over the entire substrate bearing the patterned transparent electrode stripes, (B) applying a uniform layer of an organic flowable photoresist material over the layer of dielectric, (C) heating the coated substrate to a temperature at which the photoresist layer flows, and (D) etching back through the layers to the transparent electrode.
