PURPOSE:To shorten arms for axially supporting rollers, so as to improve response and securely execute a folding operation by connecting a pair of arms axially supporting the folding rollers to each other through a pair of adjusting levers axially supported by one support provided below the intermediate part of the support of the arms and a pair of links. CONSTITUTION:Adjusting levers 13a, 13b are respectively oscillated and rotated in opposite directions by the rotation of a rotary shaft 23. Arms 10a, 10b are oscillated and rotated through links 16a, 16b by their rotations to adjust the space between folding rolls 7a and 7b. The folding rolls 7a and 7b adjusted in such a way are pressed to a paper sheet by means of the spring force of springs 18a and 18b to fold the paper sheet. When the folding rolls 7a and 7b are oscillated by external force, the springs 18a and 18b are slightly deflected and oscillated, thereby impact being generated between joints 17a, 17b and stoppers 15a, 15b. However, since the lengths of the arms 10a and 10b are short and masses thereof are small, the amount of impact is low and a special buffer material is not required. |
