A rigid porous bed is manufactured for a fluid-operated bearing. The porous material is given the desired profile by mechanical processing. The material is then etched to provide the mechanically worked surface with the required porisity. An electrolytic spray-etching process is used. The porous material is pref. sintered, stainless steel. |
