ALIGNING AND CENTERING MEANS FOR ARMS OF FORK-SHAPED PLATE CARRIERS DURING LOADING AND UNLOADING OF PLATES An alignment and centering device is associated with a carrier having two fork arms and a transverse base to which the rearward ends of the fork arms are attached and which is connected with a conveyor mechanism in a framework with a plate-loading station, and plate-feeding means therein for advancing plates toward the free fork ends of the fork-shaped carrier in a plate-advancement plane. The alignment and centering device comprises rearward and forward engaging means on an outer wall of each fork arm, facing away from the other fork arm; aligning means for engaging the rearward engaging means; and forward, centering aligning means for engaging the forward engaging means on the fork arm after the rearward engaging means have been engaged by the first aligning means. The device is stationary on the framework and the first and second aligning means are displaceable therein parallel with the plate-advancement plane. |
