PURPOSE:To reset and stop an optical scanning system correctly to its home position and to prevent the blurring at the leading end of images by providing a brake device which operates only in the forward moving direction of the optical scanning direction. CONSTITUTION:An optical scanning system 1 is slided in a forward direction along a guide rod 2 by the forward revolution of a driving pulley 10, by which exposure scanning is accomplished. Upon ending of the scanning, a pulley 10 revolves reverse and the system 1 is driven in a backward direction. Just before the home position, the backward driving is turned off, and the system 1 collides against a felt damper 4 on account of inertia force. The system 1 is going to bounce back in the forward direction by the repulsive force, but its repulsive force is absorbed by a brake device consisting of a brake plate 17 and a brake roller 18, by which the system 1 is stopped correctly in the home position. In this way, the blurring at the leading end of the images is prevented. |
