SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNET WITH MECHANISM OF PERIODIC DAMPING

摘要

PURPOSE:To suppress vibrations of a superconducting coil by joining an interval between containers of internal and external vessels with a heat insulating composite material and incorporating damping mechanisms into the place close to a fixed end of the external vessel container side of the heat insulating composite material. CONSTITUTION:Although the region of damping capacity is so large that it can not be adjusted only by a load supporting material 7, its capacity is made to work by incorporating damping mechanism 15 into an interval between internal and external vessels 2 and 3 and the most excellent spring and damping system is constructed on the whole. Then, the internal and external vessels 2 and 3 are connected by the damping mechanism 15 having further small equivalent spring and large equivalent damping constants k2 and r2 in addition to the load supporting material 7 of equivalent spring and damping constants k1 and r1. Vibrations of the internal vessel 2 and a coil part 1 in resonance points are thus reduced drastically.
