SLIDING MEMBER FOR RECORDING AND REPRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To improve the friction resistance and wear resistance of the sliding member by constituting the surface part of the member of a metal and the diamond-like film formed on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:The surface part of the sliding member is constituted of the metal and the diamond-like film formed on the surface thereof. Namely, the diamond-like film is formed on the surface of the sliding member for recording and reproducing devices. Particularly a method for forming the diamond-like film by an ionization vapor deposition method is adequate as the film forming method. The sliding member used for the recording and reproducing devices is inexpensively coated with the diamond-like film having the good friction resistance and wear resistance with good productivity in this way.
