HIGH SPEED SCREEN SEARCHING DEVICE BY VISS/VASS

The VHS index and address search system (VISS/VASS) provides index signal corresponding to the recorded program on the control track of the tape and allocates the address designated for the index to search the desired program faster and more precisely. The system loads the tape as much as half of normal in fast forward (FF) or rewind (REW) mode to reduce the running load of the tape. A VISS/ VASS signal sensing head (8) is connected to a head lever (5) and a linkage lever (4), of which three parts are linked to a pinch lever (3). A connect plate (2) shifts to left or right direction according to the FF or REW mode. The pinch lever (3) is linked to the movement of the plate (2) and its pinch roller (10) moves towards a capstan shaft (11).
