PURPOSE:To easily form a photovoltaic device at a low cost by a method wherein either transparent electrodes or metal electrodes are not built on the ends of a board, and an isolating groove is dispersed with. CONSTITUTION:Transparent electrodes 2a and 2b are formed on the insulated face of a board 1, which is divided into two or more parts arranged in a prescribed direction by irradiation with an energy beam. Two or more semiconductor optical active layers 5a and 5b are formed on the electrodes 2a and 2b corresponding to them, and metal electrodes 6a and 6b are formed on the active layers 5a and 5b. Then, the electrodes 6a and 6b are irradiated with an energy beam to be divided into two or more parts arranged in a prescribed direction. At this point, at least, either the electrodes 2a and 2b or the electrodes 6a and 6b are not built on the ends of the board 1 along a direction in which the parts divided into two or more pieces are arranged. By this setup, an isolating groove is not required to be provided, so that a photovoltaic device of this design can be simplified in process and lessened in cost. |
