PURPOSE:To prevent generation of toxic organic chlorine compounds such as dioxin by introducing a combustion gas discharged from an incinerator into a waste refuse collecting part of an incinerator installation after treating the gas with a catalyst of a metal oxide in a specified composition. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst is obtained by molding >=1 of Ti, Si, and Zn and/or >=1 of their composite oxides with >=1 of Pt, Pd, Ru, Mn, Cu, Cr, Fe, and their oxides into a pellet, a plate, a cylinder, or a honeycomb shape. After a combustion gas containing toxic chlorine-type polymer compounds such as polychlorodibenzodioxin, polychlorodibenzofuran, etc., from an incinerator is treated with the catalyst, the gas is introduced into a waste refuse collecting part of an incinerator installation so as to prevent generation of toxic organic chlorine compounds. |
