<p>In reheating furnaces the sand joint for the furnace lid has a high volumetric mass but is of fine grain size. Means are provided for equalising the pressure of the sand-wetting medium by a rhythmic cut-off. The wetting medium is situated in more than on dividing box, there being abutments from the skirt of the lid between each box.</p> |
