PURPOSE:To reduce missing of thin lines at reduction of a binary picture by setting a threshold level binarizing conversion picture element density or brightness being the result of converting picture element density in response to the conversion magnification. CONSTITUTION:An input picture is inputted as one line picture data synchronously with a line synchronizing signal and as one page picture data synchronously with a page synchronizing signal. A conversion picture element density arithmetic section 11 calculates the density (n-bit) of the conversion picture element with respect to the input picture 10a (1-bit) and the result of calculation is binarized by a binarizing processing section 12. In this case, binarizing is implemented at a binarization threshold level setting section 13 based on a threshold level 13a set corresponding to the conversion multiple. |
