The invention relates to scissors, particularly for hairdressers, of the type including a pair of blades extended by handles equipped with gripping rings, the gripping ring for the thumb being substantially oval, the gripping ring for the ring finger being substantially round, these scissors being characterised in that, on the one hand, the longitudinal diameter L of the round gripping ring 6 for the ring finger is aligned on the axis of the handle 5 extending the cutting blade 2 and, on the other hand, the major diameter D of the oval gripping ring 8 for the thumb is offset by an acute angle a with respect to the axis of the handle 7 extending the movable blade 3 and, furthermore, the rear part 10 of the oval gripping ring 8, delimited substantially by the minor diameter d and the rear curved edge 11 of this ring 8 is tilted out of the mean plane of the scissors 1 towards the outside of these scissors 1, that is to say in the direction of the extension of the fingers when the latter hold the scissors 1 in the conventional cutting position for hairdressing. The scissors according to the invention are more specifically intended for the field of hairdressing, or for the field of grooming and clipping pets, but it may be envisaged to use them profitably in the field of surgery, where scissors are gripped in a more or less similar way, and where the stability of these scissors has an obvious importance. <IMAGE>
