PURPOSE: To improve the contrast ratio without forming an insulating layer, by installing plural cathode electrodes arranged in parallel with each other, perpendicularly to plural anodes arranged in parallel with each other through a barrier plate, on an upper face of a back glass. CONSTITUTION: A DC voltage drive-type plasma display panel(DC-PDP) comprises the stripe opaque anodes 3 on an upper face of a back glass 1, and the opaque thick barrier plates 4 are formed on the upper face of the back glass 1 between the anodes 3 in parallel therewith. Further the stripe transparent cathodes are formed on a lower face of a front glass 6 perpendicularly to the barrier plate 4. The surface of the back glass 1 is completely covered by the opaque anodes 3 and the barrier plates 4, and the transparent glass area is not found, so that the contrast ratio can be improved without forming a separate opaque insulating layer. |
