PURPOSE:To enable printing to be suitably performed by making a wiping trace disappear after washing by a method wherein a wiping off means is separated from a blanket at a time corresponding to an area other than a printing significant peripheral surface area of a blanket cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A washing device 4 rises in washing to abut against a peripheral surface of a blanket, and ink is wiped off with a long wound cloth wetted by washing liquid. When washing is ended, a mark 5 is detected from a rotary blanket cylinder by a detection means 6 opposed to a side part of the blanket cylinder 1. Then, after giving a separation command signal of the washing device 4, timing when a non-printing area 7 of the blanket cylinder and the washing device 4 stand opposite to each other is counted based on an AND circuit signal of this command signal and a detection signal. Since the washing device 4 descends by operating a lifter means 40 at the point of time when the non-printing area 7 and the washing device 4 stand opposite to each other, a trace to be left by wiping with solvent when the long wound cloth 43 of a wiping off means 45 is separated is not generated on the peripheral surface of the blanket. |
