PURPOSE:To enhance fixing properties, anti-staining properties and dot reproducibility by providing a heat-softenable colorant layer containing aromatic carboxylic ester of monosaccharide and/or aromatic carboxylic ester of polysaccharide on a support. CONSTITUTION:Aromatic carboxylic ester of monosaccharide and/or aromatic carboxylic ester of polysaccharide are contained in a heat-softenable colorant layer. As monosaccharide, biose, triose, tetrose, pentose, hexose, heptose, octose and derivatives thereof are designated. As single polysaccharide, glucan, fructance, manipun, xylane, galaturonan, mannuronane and homoglycan are designated. As polysaccharide, trisaccharide - tetrasaccharide are pref. and sucrose is especially pref. As aromatic carboxylic acid, benzoic acid and phthalic acid are designated and benzoic acid is pref. The esterification degree of aromatic carboxylic esters of monosaccharide and polysaccharide is 50-100%, especially pref., 70-100% and the content thereof in the heat-softenable colorant layer is pref. 5-20wt.%. |
