PURPOSE:To obtain a contactor which enables a contact to be anchored through the thermal squeeze of the side wall of a groove after the contact has been inserted into a contact hole by making up a contact setting member from thermal plastic resin. CONSTITUTION:Two kinds of contact insertion grooves 24a and 24b are interchangeably formed at a specified pitch in the base section 24 of a contact setting member 2 composed of a thermal plastic resin molded item in order to set the terminal sections 13b and 14b of contacts in two rows, in this case, the difference in depth between the grooves is equal to the specified pitch 'P' between the raws of the contacts. The terminal section 14b of the contact is pressed into the deep contact insertion groove 24b for the contact at the bottom side first until it comes in contact with the bottom of the groove in the longer and the right angle direction, following which, the terminal section 13b of the contact at the upper side is pressed into the shallow contact insertion groove 24a in a similar manner. Then, the groove section of the contact setting member 2 is pressed with pressure by means of a heating punch 6 so as to be thermally squeezed. Contact anchoring can thereby be sufficiently secured while resin at the projection section 24c side is softened so as to be fused so that it is thereby formed in such a way that the contact is enclosed by the wall of the groove. |
