PURPOSE:To obtain the capacity information with high precision in the intermediate capacity region or more of a compressor by installing an inspected body installed onto the outer peripheral part of a swingable swash plate and a detector which is installed onto the peripheral wall of the machine body an detects the meet with the inspected body. CONSTITUTION:A permanent magnet 17 is planted on the outer peripheral edge of a swingable swash plate 11. A magnetic sensor 18 is arranged on the wall part of a crank chamber 2a corresponding to the operation motion locus of the permanent magnet 17. The magnetic sensor 18 generates the ac signal voltage in correspondence with the change of magnetic flux by the permanent magnet 17, in the meet with the permanent magnet 17. The ac signal voltage is converted to the capacity signal in a detection circuit 20. In the variation region at the motion locus edge of the permanent magnet 17 in the intermediate capacity operation within a prescribed range, the magnetic sensor 18 is installed. Therefore, the capacity information having high precision can be obtained in the intermediate capacity region or more of the swingable swash plate type compressor.
