PURPOSE:To easily catch a target to be inspected in the field of a microscope and to rapidly and accurately execute the checking work of many targets to be inspected by storing the X coordinate data of each target to be inspected in a memory and moving an XY stage in accordance with the data. CONSTITUTION:The XY coordinate data of a target to be inspected including microorganisms detected by various microorganism counting methods or counting devices and foreign substances are stored in a memory 7 by a microprocessor 3. In this case, the membrane filter of the target to be inspected mounted on the XY stage 7 is moved from the counting device 2a or the microscope 8 in a general purpose type microscope system in accordance with the XY coordi nate data. The XY membrane filter 1 to be inspected is mounted on an XY stage 9c and controlled by a control circuit 9c in accordance with a command generated from a microprocessor 9a so as to be moved. Consequently, a target to be inspected can efficiently catched within the field of the microscope in the checking work by the exclusive microscope arranged on the microorganism counting device or the general purpose type microscope system.
