The side wall (12) of the platform assembly has two links (14) forming a parallel motion linkage to allow movement of the assembly from (12) to (12') and vice versa under the action of hydraulic cylinder (38). The linkage together with the hydraulic reservoir, pump and electrical switch box are all carried on a mounting bracket (16) which is fastened to the side wall (20) of the vehicle steps with several screws (54). Electrical power is obtained from a socket (50) on the vehicle. USE/ADVANTAGE - Intended for passenger vehicles, esp. buses. Design is self-contained and platform can easily be removed and fitted to another vehicle. Repair does not require vehicle to be withdrawn from service.
