PURPOSE: To measure arterial blood pressure at desired point of the artery at instantaneous moment by measuring artery diameter by means of two diameter sensors put on the skin closer to each other and obtaining blood pressure value through data from those sensors. CONSTITUTION: Surface artery 22 in the arm 2 is, for example, a humeral artery. Diameter D1 is measured at the first position 3 and D2 is measured at the second position 4 of this artery. The position 3 and 4 are positioned with an interval delta-x. Sensors 5, 6 used to measure it are placed on the arm of a patient. The measurement is, therefore, non-invasive not requiring anything to put into the arm, for which sensor to use is a supersonic radiate to catch returned echo from the artery wall. Respective signal D1 (t), D2 (t) from the sensors 5, 6 is sent to a computer 28 and processed there. The computer is equipped with a visual display screen 29. This apparatus conducts a measurement of arterial blood pressure p (t) at desired point of the artery, which is made in one cardiac cycle. |
