Measuring arrangement in atom absorption spectrometry - contains pulse lamp, echelle spectrometer, and CCD sensor

An arrangement for simultaneously measuring several elements in atom absorption spectroscopy contains a pulse lamp (9) continuum radiator, a high resolution Echelle spectrometer and a CCD sensor (7) consisting of modified CCD rows with few pixels positioned at the loci of selected spectral lines of an Echelle spectrum. The pulse lamp radiation intensity spectrum approximates to the continuous spectrum of a black radiator with a radiation temp. of approximately 15000 K. The CCD sensor operates near saturation of individual pixels for all wavelengths at each lamp flash. ADVANTAGE - Achieves increased efficiency of atom absorption spectrometry.
