PURPOSE:To obtain a double-layer roll having inner and outer layers of uniform thickness by inserting an inner cylinder, on the outer peripheral surface of which soldering material is arranged, into a previously heated outer cylinder at a temperature lower than that of the outer cylinder, and soldering both cylinders while they are rotated at the same rotating speed, and cooling them. CONSTITUTION:An outer cylinder 1 is rotated by rotating rollers 5a, 5a rotated by a motor 8a while it is previously heated by an external heating device 10. The supporting shaft 7 of an inner cylinder 2 is rotated by rotating rollers 5b, 5b supported by supporting devices 6 capable of being axially displaced, and inserted into the outer cylinder 1 whose diameter is expanded by heating. The inner and outer cylinders 2, 1 are rotated at the same rotating speed, the inner and outer cylinders 2, 1 are bonded to each other by soldering material 3 arranged on the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder 2, and then cooled. In this constitution, deformation of the inner and outer cylinders 2, 1 is prevented, and since joining of both the cylinders by soldering is performed uniformly, the double-layer roll can be manufactured without causing any defect. |
