PURPOSE:To vary physical quantities and to enable preferable music listening by evaluating the acoustic characteristics of a sound field from variables and constants of listening sound pressure, 1st delay time, etc., of the sound field which are physical quantities and mental quantities and measuring the physical quantities. CONSTITUTION:A dummy head or human head 1 is installed in a place to be evaluated, microphones 2l and 2r fitted in the left and right external auditory meatuses detect the sound pressure signals of both ears, and a preamplifier 3 amplifies and adds the signals. Then a physical analyzer 4 finds the physical quantities, i.e. the 1st best reflected sound delay time, the best following reverberation sound reverberation time for the time which is (23+ or -10) times as long as the 1st best reflected sound delay time, and the cross correlation coefficient IACC between both the ears from the sound pressure signals of both the ears. The respective values are compared by a comparator 5 with the respective best values which are inputted as comparison data from an input terminal (y) and converted by a metal quantity converter 6 into quantities corresponding to metal quantities; and a total evaluation device 7 performs total evaluation. Consequently, the preference of the sound field is outputted from an output terminal 8. |
