The ski boot comprises a hard shell, a divided upper and an inner shoe. A three part support band is held between the shell and inner shoe and is provided with a tension device which can be operated from outside. The band part (2) running beneath the foot arch is guided in at least two slides (6,7,8) fitted inside the shell (1). The free ends of the band part (2) on the one side are connected to the free ends of the band part (4) above the shell and on the other side to the free ends of the band part (3) running on the instep. The free ends of the band part (3) are guided outwards to the tension device (5) through two recesses (13,14) in the shell (1) at the instep. A part of the shell covering the instep and exposed to the action of the tension device has one or more slits (15,16). USE/ADVANTAGE - The foot is completely embraced in defined areas by a Y-shaped tension device ensuring accurate control of the ski.
