Bobbin pairing - has doffer working at station for one wound length with second bobbin for second length for pairing with stations

To match cross wound bobbins in pairs, according to different wound yarn lengths, stations are grouped into matching numbers of wound lengths (L1, L2), and are registered in the program memory as such according to the different winding stations. When the doffer has doffed a bobbin of one length (L1, L2) it travels to a winding station which produces the other length for that bobbin to be doffed. The two bobbins, of different wound lengths, are taken from the doffer as a pair. Pref. the bobbin doffed at one station is held in a store to be carried to the next station to be assembled with the second bobbin to be deposited as a pair. The paired bobbins are collected together or deposited at given points on the bobbin conveyor where the conveyor moves in steps according to the length taken up by a pair of bobbins. The winding speed of the separate winding stations is adjusted as an inverse ratio to the yarn lengths of the two bobbins to be paired, so that the winding times are the same for each type. The two bobbins are stacked coaxially at the doffer while held there and oriented for transfer.
