The paper or cardboard guillotine has a front bench (5) and a rear bench (3) with an adjustable gap (11) between them. The stack of paper (18) is placed on the rear bench (3) and pushed along it to the cutter (14) by the pusher (16), and a ruler fence (20) is brought into operation as the gap (11) is opened up. A support (39) moves to hold up the cut stack (18) as it moves on to the rear edge (7) of the front bench (5). USE/ADVANTAGE - The stack is prevented from sagging over the edge of the bench between the rear and front sections.
