The drive for actuating a drumstick by means of a pedal has a shaft (41) which is mounted in a bearing (40) which is mounted on a support (12). The shaft (41) carries two arms. The first arm is straight and has a clamp (62) to receive the drumstick (70). The second arm is curved and has one end of a belt (21) attaached to it. The other end of this belt is attached to a pedal (35). When the pedal (35) is depressed the drumstick (70) is swung against the drumskin (1). A tension spring (54) attached to a fitting (53) fixed to the end of the shaft (41) swings the drumstick and pedal back to their initial positions. USE - One-man bands.
