PURPOSE:To effectively display vibro-isolating performance by using electric viscous fluid as incompressible fluid to be enclosed in a pair of fluid chambers, and opposedly arranging an electrode in an orifice passage, with which the fluid chambers communicate, so as to enable the spring characteristic to be suitably controlled in switching. CONSTITUTION:Four fluid chambers 32, 34 and 36, 38, respectively opposedly arranged, are connected to each other by the first and second orifice passages 52, and fluid is put in streaming motion with fluid resistance between the opposed fluid chambers 32, 34 or 36, 38. This fluid is electric viscous fluid having incompressibility. A metal plate 45 is arranged in each orifice passage 52 and connected to a power supply so as to enable DC voltage to be applied between the metal plate and an outer cylinder metal fixture 12 opposed thereto. Accordingly, viscosity of the fluid is increased by applying voltage, and streaming motion of the fluid in the orifice 52 is changed. Consequently, streaming resistance of the fluid is changed, and the spring characteristic can be effectively changed. |
