A personal card contg. a microprocessor, data memory and information output field or display has at least one manually operated input field with numbers, characters or coloured surfaces for user code entry. Each time the card is used, the user must or can enter the code inserted in the card when issued. The entered code is compared with the stored code. If they agree, information is displayed for a defined period which is read by a card reader.
