PURPOSE: To form a composite membrane having good separation performance by coating a base film comprising a microfiltration membrane, ultrafiltration membrane or the like with a coating film comprising a crosslinked polyaromatic polymer or sulfonated poly(haloalkylene). CONSTITUTION: The base film comprising a microfiltration membrane, ultrafiltration membrane or reverse osmosis membrane is coated with a film comprising a polyaromatic polymer or sulfonated poly(haloalkylene), and the coating film is crosslinked to form a composite membrane. Preferably the base film has 10 μm to 1 mm thickness, 10 Å to 5 μm average pore diameter and >=10% porosity. The coating film after crosslinked is preferably 1 to 5,000 nm, thick. When an aq. medium containing inorg. salts and org. compds. is brought into contact with the composite membrane above described, the org. compds. are efficiently separated and recovered. |
