Element is a flat-bottom cylindrical cup about 3 mm thick all round with axial filter holes in the bottom and radial holes in the cylindrical side wall, so that during counter-current flushing jets of liquid are directed axially into the interior of the cup. Specifically the cup may have a collar round its lip, and may be of plastic stiff enough to resist deformation during the changes of pressure undergone during filtering and flushing. The material may be an acetal resin. |
