Bio-technological processes are carried out in a multi-stage reactor with an internal circuit. One or more walls round the circuit extend to the bottom, while between the outside wall of the circuit and the nearest wall is a further wall ending clear of the bottom, and similar walls are mounted between those in successive pairs further out. The reactor and chambers are formed by the walls extending to the bottom and having one or more mouthpieces. Feed and discharge pipes are connected to the reactor inner tube and the outside wall, or vice versa.
