<p>PURPOSE:To facilitate the resonant supercharging in a four cycle twelve cylinder engine by forming each one group with every three cylinders having a suction stroke with equal intervals at every 240 deg. passage respectively. CONSTITUTION:In a twelve cylinder four cycle engine of V-type arrangement every six cylinders of twelve cylinders 1 are arranged in each one side. In this case, the ignition order of each cylinder 1 is set as 1a-1l-1i-1d-1e-1h-1k-1b-1 c-1j-1g-1f. When the cylinders 1 of each line are divided into groups of every three cylinders from the end, each ignition time is set with the equal intervals at every 240 deg.. On the other hand, a serge tank 7 provided with the upper of each cylinder 1 line, for example to explain with the right line, is divided into a tank 7a for respective cylinder groups 1a, 1c, 1e and a tank 7b for other respective cylinder groups 1g, 1i, 1k to form a common intake passage for respective cylinder groups.</p> |
