<p>The conventional 'two-pin' contacts (2) are moulded into the insulated body (1) of the plug. The pins are wired to the electrical appliance via a two pole switch (6) and the two electrical cores (4,5) of a flexible cable. The flexible cable also contains a pneumatic tube (15) which is connected to a flexible pressure vessel (9). When pressure is applied to the vessel, e.g. by squeezing a similar vessel at the other end of the cable on the appliance, the switch is operated and curent can flow.
