Starting from residue products in a wheatmeal starch preparation according to which preparation a fluid evaporated residue flow and a remaining diluted waste flow are obtained. The remaining waste flow is subjected to a thermal treatment in which resident proteins coagulate, the high protein solid components are removed and the remaining waste flow is being evaporated. The evaporated residue flow is thereupon hydrolyzed and said evaporated residue flow is mixed with the remaining evaporated waste flow. Prior or after mixing the evaporated waste flow, respectively mixture, is subjected to a lactic acid fermentation. After fermentation and mixing the mixture is further evaporated to a dry material content of 45 to 55 weight %. |
