PURPOSE:To obtain the titled derivative useful as an intermediate for antibiotics of the penicilillin or cephalosporin type under mild conditions easily in high yield without using a specific reagent, by electrolyzing a specific compound in the presence of a lower fatty acid. CONSTITUTION:A compound shown by the formulaI(R<1> is aralkyl or aryloxymethyl) is electrolyzed in the presence of large excess lower fatty acid (e.g., acetic acid, etc.) using 0.1-50wt% supporting electrolyte such as preferably potassium formate, etc. at -30-30 deg.C, to give the desired derivative shown by the formula II (R<2> is acyl). |
