PURPOSE:To improve a detecting accuracy by pressing an ink end detecting plate directly to an ink end detector when an ink end is detected. CONSTITUTION:An ink cartridge 20 is composed of a cartridge case 10, an ink bag 1 formed of a sheet such as a laminated film, etc., a detecting plate 5 deviated upon shrinkage of the bag, and a waste ink recovery bag 6. When the cartridge 20 is used, it is inserted into a cartridge holder, and ink is supplied from an outlet 1a. Waste ink used for purging is recovered to the bag 6 through a waste ink port 6a. When the ink in the bag 1 is reduced by printing of an ink jet printer, the projection 5a of the plate 5 is brought into contact with the lever of a detector 30, thereby detecting ink remainder. |
