[Also in Division F1] Aerosol valve comprises a valve member with a hollow stem 40 which extends through a sealing gasket 18, preferably of rubber, and a closed head 48 engaging the gasket. The gasket is provided with an annular recess 50 forming a port and space round the ends of transverse passings 46 communicating with the interior 41 of the stem. The valve member is biased to closed position by a spring and is desirably opened by tilting. Opening by depressing the stem longitudinally may be discouraged by omitting the usual valve button or by providing a lock ring (not shown). The gasket may be in one piece or as shown in two washer-like parts which may be secured together by adhesive or simply clamped together by the valve body 12. |
