PURPOSE:To obtain the subject foam suitable for bumper of automobile, etc., having excellent compression strength in deformation and recovery after deformation, etc., by reacting specific carbodiimide-modified diphenylmethane diisocyanate, polyol, chain extender and water. CONSTITUTION:(A) Carbodiimide-modified diphenylmethane diisocyanate containing 20-28wt.% NCO is reacted with (B) polyol, (C) chain extender and (D) foaming agent composed of at least water in a composition of 0.9-1.2 NCO /OH equivalent ratio and 1-3wt.% water in the whole raw material to afford an energy-absorbing polyurethane foam having <=0.10g/cm<3>, restoring ability and >=3kg/cm<2> compression strength at 50% deformation. |
