<p>PURPOSE: To attain the conquer of a fault caused by thermal expansion to be exerted during the operation of a cutter by letting the temperature of the cutter rise to a selected temperature higher than the usual operating temperature of a machine and keeping this temperature at this selected value through searching and control means. CONSTITUTION: The following operation of a device 1 for cutting a filter/cigarette connecting band is performed. Namely, when a freely adjustable knife 9 of a roller 6 and a correspondent knife 10 of another roller 5 are contacted, the setting angle of the knife 9 is adjusted. Then, bolts 27 and 23 are fastened and the operating preparation of a filter assembly machine is performed. During the operation, the section under operating operates as a heat source, and the temperature of this assembly machine gradually rises from the surrounding temperature to the prescribed running temperature. During this rising, the device 1 is kept at the fixed temperature higher than the operating temperature of the machine through control in the quantity of heat generated from a heating source 39 corresponding to a feedback signal from a sensing means 40. Then, even during stop at the operating time of this assembly machine, a means 37 for sensing and controlling the temperature of the device 1 operates this machine without the danger of malfunction and the adjustment of knife.</p> |
