OPTICAL TRANSMITTER FOR PRINTING SIGNAL

PURPOSE:To produce a busy signal of a personal computer in a simple constitution by using a printer busy signal as well as the output of a timer circuit which works in response to the strobe signal received from the personal computer. CONSTITUTION:A one-shot timer 20 of a unit 10 set at the side of a personal computer 58 produces a data output inhibiting gate signal from the strobe signal received from the computer 58. The printer side strobe signal produced by a unit 30 set at the side of a printer 60. Then a printer busy signal is produced from the reading edge of the printer side strobe signal and applied to an OR gate 24 of the unit 10 via the photoelectric converters 52 and 26 and an optical fiber 54. Then the data output inhibiting gate signal and the printer busy signal are applied to the computer 58 via the gate 24 as a personal computer busy signal. Thus it is possible to produce the busy signal to be applied to the computer 58 without using a data acknowledge signal.
