发明名称 TRIMMED RESISTOR AND ADJUSTMENT OF ITS RESISTANCE VALUE
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To accurately reduce a resistance value by trimming without damaging a semiconductor integrated circuit by a method wherein a first electrode and a second electrode are connected by using a conductor and resistance layers are short-circuited. CONSTITUTION:When the values of a series resistor of, e.g. resistance layers 30 to 33 are by R2 and R3 larger than the resistance values required for a circuit characteristic, a first electrode 37 and a second electrode 42 are connected by using a conductor 47 in addition to a first electrode 36 and a second electrode 42; then, the resistance layers 31, 32 are short-circuited; the resistance value is reduced by the resistance values R2, R3; a trimming adjustment is completed. The conductor 47 is connected to both the first electrodes 36, 37 and the second electrode 42; the resistance layers 31, 32 whose trimming adjustment is required are short-circuited. Consequently, when the resistance value is reduced by trimming, it is not required to make an excessive electric current flow to a semiconductor integrated circuit. Thereby, it is possible to accurately reduce the resistance value without damaging the semiconductor integrated circuit.</p>
