A device for checking electrical cables 6. Its electrical circuit consists of branches in parallel, each provided with an indicating light 12, 13 and connected to sockets 3, 4, 5 which match the plugs 7. A selector 14 enables the conductors in the cable and their connections to be checked one after another. Two photodiodes 12a, 13a alongside each other then light up when the conductors are sound.
